Founded in 2018 by Liz Bradford, Moonacre Ranch has evolved from a private retreat for close friends and family to a popular destination for travelers seeking a unique experience of staying in a yurt and "finding some quiet." In 2023, the evolution continues as Liz transforms the space to embody her vision for a safe place for women to "get away from it all and just be." As a busy executive and single mom, Liz regularly witnesses friends, family, and colleagues yearning for a place to unwind with no agendas, no responsibilities, no overstructured programs, and no astronomical membership fees. Moonacre Ranch offers just that.
At Moonacre Ranch, we believe that everyone deserves to experience the transformative power of nature. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing space where individuals can connect with themselves, others, and the environment.
With a day pass, guests can enjoy lounging in hammocks, meditating on pallets in a field, staring into the nothingness over a tree-filled valley, visiting with old and newfound friends in lounge chairs on the bluff or around a campfire, diving deep into a book alone in the woods, or shopping for unique treasures in the Moonacre Market and enjoying complimentary beverages and snacks for purchase in the Lounge. We also provide various programs such as lectures, workshops, retreats, and guided nature walks. Individual services such as acupuncture and reiki are coming soon. In 2018, and not far off the beaten path for Fredericksburg-bound travelers on Highway 71, I discovered a 13-acre piece of unrestricted, untouched, uninhabitable land. It had been part of a larger 600 tract of land first settled in 1850. Research shows this entire area was once home to the peaceful Tonkawa tribe. Although the 13 acres were now so thick with cedar you could barely walk without branches pulling your hair and scratching your face, the energy here was good, the perfect spot to develop a retreat.
It took almost a year and a half and many trips from the H.O.W. Foundation tree-clearing team to thin out the scraggly, groundwater-sucking cedar. By the end of 2019, prayers to the “Water Goddess” were answered, and a freshly dug water well now gushed. Next came electricity, a septic system, and finally, the yurts from Oregon. The momen

By the end of 2019, prayers to the “Water Goddess” were answered, and a freshly dug water well now gushed. Next came electricity, a septic system, and finally, the yurts from Oregon. The momentum was good, but then…the pandemic hit, and the world came to a screeching halt.
While we hunkered down and reflected on our relationships, jobs, lives, and futures, it became clear that my sisters (as strong and capable as they are) struggled like me to keep it together. The need for a “girls-only fort” in the woods was great. Here in the hills, we could find peace and solidarity among the trees, deer, foxes, coyotes, birds, butterflies, cicadas, and even scorpions. Significant life changes dictated that I would have to wait to open for business, but in the meantime, I would rent the yurts on Airbnb to curious and like-minded folks who were also searching for serenity.
Today, in 2023, I got a loud and clear divine message that it was now “go time!” It came as a Texas Monthly request to provide photos of my yurts. They were going to feature my dream project as part of a story. As my dear friend and collaborator Brenda says, it was just the kind of Texas-sized push we needed.

To you, my friends, family, neighbors, and many contractors, thanks for joining me on this journey. None of it would be possible without you. With love, Liz

I came to 512organics with a solid health philosophy already in place because I learned it in nursing school. Registered nursing uses a holistic approach - we tune in to mental, physical, and spiritual health. That's at the heart of what every nurse practices. At some point, I realized it simply means “Make things better.” I love that and still do.
When my career led to dermatology, an unexpected creative spark announced itself and flourished in that setting. Nature is an absolute genius: why not offer organic, gorgeous skin care products to help solve skin problems? “Make things better!” Many cultures have used oils and Botanics for thousands of years: for health, for beauty, to lift spirits, and to feel connected to the Earth. Have you ever smelled fresh rosemary and instantly felt better? That's because it's a brain stimulant that boosts mood and improves memory. That revelation has inspired me ever since.
Creating the healthiest, happiest products that make things better has become an actual mission, with nature's own natural, incredible science leading the charge. A lot of research and a lot of heart goes into every bottle.
I pinch myself every day that 512organics exists. I've learned so much and am pleased to share this passion. It was built for you. I hope you love it.

The idea of an organic lip balm that smelled amazing and knocked my socks off led to the creation of 512organics. It had one standard to live up to: Be excellent in every way.

The idea of an organic lip balm that smelled amazing and knocked my socks off led to the creation of 512organics. It had one standard to live up to: Be excellent in every way.
Highest quality ingredients, please. Organic if possible. Easy on the environment. Fantastic for hydrated lips. But there wasn't one that was AMAZING, so...I made my own. Batch after batch until the formula was next level.
I wasn't even thinking of a business. Somehow it just...happened!
It happened because making products is a lot of fun. A family member had insomnia, so Drowsy Drops came to the rescue. Stress relief? Oh hey, here's some Calm the Crazy. Need a Healing Hand Salve with excellent skin properties - we developed ours for a legendary NYC urban gardener! And then came...Gorgeous Rose Face Oils blend. Those glowy drops adore your skin. Everyone loves Gorgeous Rose.
Inspiration keeps on rolling, and we pinch ourselves every minute.
Nature is more than a friend, friend. If you trust it, it will delight you in amazingly loving ways!
